What is an escape room?
Escape rooms provide an interactive and thrilling gaming experience where players collaborate to solve a series of challenges within a set time limit using clues, hints, and puzzles.
With around 45 minutes on the clock, can you and your team beat the clock and escape the room?

How much does it cost?
Metaphysica charges $50 per person for a session, with game sizes accommodating 2-6 players.
Double room bookings can host up to twelve players. For further details, check out our pricing page.
How does it work?
Your team will be equipped with HTC Vive Focus 3 virtual reality headsets, and escorted to a custom-engineered simulation room where sound is dampened to enhance immersion.
Our experienced game masters will give you a briefing.
From there, it's game on!
Can I book the place out for an event I am running?
Certainly! We are passionate about hosting events at Metaphysica and we cater to a range of occasions including birthdays, bucks nights, and corporate events.

Do I need to be fit?
Our rooms are designed to test your mental agility and ability to work together as a team - not your fitness.
You may need to bend, crouch or raise your arms above your head, there are no lifting requirements. You do need to have the capacity to walk and move freely. Please contact us if you have further questions.
Is there an age limit?
It depends on the game. We have something for most age ranges but recommend children must be at least 10 years old to play by themselves.
Any players under 18 years of age require an adult or guardian to sign waivers on their behalf before starting.
What if I get stuck?
Our operations centre is constantly monitoring your journey, and if requested can provide hints to your team that assist you to progress.
We will always try and help you get the best experience possible. We don't want you to get frustrated and will provide hints whenever you ask.
How long will it take?
Length of games vary between experiences and can be any where from 7 - 15 minutes for mini games, and 30 - 60 minutes for escape rooms, with 5 minutes at the start of each session for induction.
Depending on how busy we are, we might give you a little extra time to complete the game if required. Please arrive on time for your booking so everyone can enjoy a good virtual experience.
Are glasses ok?
The VR headsets fit comfortably over most glasses with a problem, half of our team wears glasses and they have no problem putting on and taking off VR headsets all day.
However, if you have contact lenses you may find them more convenient. If you only need glasses for reading or driving then you shouldn't need them for VR.
I can't find pants that fit, will the gear fit me?
All of our equipment is designed to be adjustable and fit people of all sizes and shapes comfortably.
From the tallest giant to the shortest hobbit we are confident you will find our equipment comfortable and a good fit.
Are the rooms accessible?
Yes! Our rooms are designed to test your mental agility and ability to work together as a team - not your fitness.
You or at least one team member may need to bend, crouch, raise your arms above your head, walk and move freely but there are no lifting requirements. We welcome all mobility levels. Please contact us if you have further questions.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Of course – Metaphysica welcomes everyone! It is desirable that one of your teammates can move around on the ground in order to complete the game.
Our team can arrange for you to park adjacent to the front door and give you any handy tips you might need to access the venue. Please contact us and let us know how we can help.
Escape Rooms and Adventures
Escape Rooms and Adventures take players away on a journey to mystical, amazing and wonderful worlds. We have experiences across a wide range of themes that can suit an demographic. Ritual horrors, family fun jungle adventures, or challenging puzzles experiences.
Times vary depending on your skills, can can last anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes.
Mini Games
Metaphysica offers a variety of Mini games. Ranging from coop shooters where you and your friends must defend against a horde of incoming zombies, through to working as a team to cook and deliver a variety of outrageous burger requests.
Great for parties, or having a go after you finish up an escape room.
Times vary from 5 - 15 minutes each.
